The Bloomingdale Public Library has a rich history of progressive thinking and community involvement. From 30 years ago when the Library opened in two mobile classrooms to today's impressive state-of-the-art facility, the residents of Bloomingdale have been instrumental in improving Library services. With financial support, professional development, and time commitments, the Bloomingdale Public Library has evolved to a staff of over 60, providing a variety of services to patrons 68 hours each week in its 35,000 square foot facility. The Library's Online Public Access Catalog (OPAC) gives patrons direct access to Bloomingdale’s holdings, as well as the holdings of eight area libraries. Currently the Bloomingdale Public Library owns over 128,000 items including books for children and adults, DVDs, books on CD, music CDs, puzzles, computer software, video games, learning games, and audiovisual equipment. The library offers public computers for patron and guest use. Director Tim Jarzemsky as well as the Board and Staff of the Bloomingdale Public Library are committed to linking resources and residents to enhance lifelong learning.
